Maybe you’ve had friends who have raved about their doula and tell you that you need one. Maybe you’ve done your research and know that you want one. Or, maybe you’ve just discovered that doulas even exist and you’re just beginning to explore the possibility of hiring one. Whether you’re in your first or your last trimester, it’s never too late to hire a doula!

I want you to feel confident and excited for your baby’s arrival. It’s hard work, no doubt, to prepare for such a big event! I love working with couples who are ready to dive in and like to make informed, evidence-based decisions. It seems that many well-meaning family and friends and even the media love to share “horror” stories, but that doesn’t help anyone. Having the proper knowledge and support will put your mind at ease and give you the confidence to birth your baby your way.

When you hire me as your doula, I will be there to support both of you prenatally in developing your birth plan, filling in any pieces your childbirth classes missed, putting a plan in place for making you as comfortable as possible during your labor and birth, and answering any other questions that pop up along the way.

I will be by your side during labor to support both of you physically, mentally, emotionally, and help you to make informed decisions every step of the way. I will help initial breastfeeding get off to a good start and be available to answer questions and provide reassurance in those first weeks after your baby’s birth as well.

I am happy to provide doula services for your birth within approximately 50 miles of Poynette. This includes Madison, Portage, Columbus, Beaver Dam, Sauk Prairie, Baraboo, and Reedsburg. Having your baby at home? I’d love to support you there too! I’m happy to meet with you for a free 60-minute consultation so that we can get to know each other a bit and determine if we will be a good fit for each other in order to achieve the birth you desire.

*1-2 prenatal appointments (lasting 1.5-2.5 hrs each) so that I can learn more about the goals you have for your birth, and we can put a plan in place to help you achieve those goals.
*Phone/email support from the time you hire me until the first weeks after your baby is born. No question is too small. I want you to have the information you need to make decisions and to then feel supported in those decisions.
*Access to my lending library of books and videos.
*I will be on-call for you from 38 weeks until your baby is born.
*Continuous support for you and your partner during your labor.
*Immediate postpartum support for up to 1-2 hours after birth.
*1 postpartum visit in the days or weeks following your birth.

I work with other local doulas so that you are guaranteed a doula at your birth in the event that unforeseen circumstances should keep me from attending your birth. These doulas have very similar backgrounds and training to mine, so if you happen to need one of them, you’ll be in good hands!

The cost for these services is $1000. I offer a $150 discount to those also enrolling in my Informed Birth Childbirth Classes and for repeat clients. I only take 1-3 clients per month, so please inquire as early as possible if you would like to meet for a consultation!
